Without intervention, we're literally damned as sinful rebels against God.

3) God offers us the solution!!

Romans 6:23 not only points out the consequences of sin, but also continues to tell us of the merciful gift God has provided to save us from our own destruction:

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

The offer of our Salvation through Jesus is the ultimate gift of love from our heavenly Father.  John 3:16 says,

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

God loves you and me enough to send his own Son, perfect and sinless, to die a torturous death in OUR PLACE, and then raised him from the grave so that WE may have eternal life in the kingdom of God!!  If we accept him, Jesus Christ bridges the chasm between us and God by redeeming us of our sin.  As Jesus says in John 14:6,

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Jesus offers our SALVATION!
